Painting, to me, is a way to express your feelings in the purest form. It calms the mind and allows for creativity that isn't generated by a computer. It allows you to see details you wouldn't notice in the world around you without looking closely when creating a painting. The style of painting over time has changed, but the emotions it evokes haven't. 

Color, to me, is the main key factor in evoking emotion in someone viewing one's artwork. I enjoy mixing the world around me with a fantasy and colorful style. Sometimes, not using white or black in a painting can evoke more creativity.

I remember, in my younger years, art teachers growing angry at my refusal to draw realistically, not because I couldn't; they saw that I could, which is where the anger was rooted, but because it wasn't what I enjoyed; it wasn't my style. Looking back at a young age, I realized I knew, deep down, art was about enjoyment and I was creating my own style. I'm grateful now that instead of trying to fit into the norm, I focused on growth and development in the art world.
